BOSTON – Emmanuel scored three unanswered goals to break open a 2-all tie and take down Suffolk men's soccer, 6-3, Saturday afternoon at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With just over five minutes remaining in the first frame Emmanuel broke open the scoring. Dagemawi Beyna took a corner that was headed back to him at the right 20-yard line. The freshman reset and sent it in to the pack where Sean Allen was waiting on David Haines left to head it right past Suffolk's goalie's gloves.
Just a minute into the second stanza the Rams leveled the playing field. Declan Mee crossed a free-kick to John Heeran who booted the ball on the bounce into the netting to equalize the game at 1-all.
The knotted game was shortlived as the Saints went ahead 1:05 later. Emmanuel nearly mirrored Suffolk's score with a free-kick pass of its own that set-up Robert Danielian's go-ahead strike. Nick Fierro took the kick to assist on the score.
Things remained interesting as Simon Velez Angel capitalized on a mismatched play in the 54th minute. The juniordrew Jonathan Ferrarini to the right side and made a swift kick left to tuck the rock into the left side of the net to even the game for the second time on the day.
Emmanuel went ahead once again as Samuel Burghardt easily slipped the ball past Haines on a one-on-one to put the Saints in front, 3-2, with just over 25 minutes on the clock in the second stanza.
A scoring frenzy ensued over the final five minutes. Kyle Monaghan and Kyle King potted one goal apiece in a 1:38 span to stretch the Saints lead to three before James Fisher cut the gap to two 29 seconds later.
Suffolk's comeback did not continue as Danielian scored his second of the afternoon in the 89th minute to make it a three-goal gap once again.
KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
- Haines and Tom Bennett split time in net with each of Suffolk's keepers recording four saves.
- Ferrarini made three saves in the victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Fisher, Heeran and Simon Velez Angel recorded one goal apiece for the Rams.
- Emmanuel held advantages in shots, 21-14, shots on goal, 14-6, and corners, 9-5.
NOTEWORTHY
- Heeran scored the first goal of his collegiate career.
- Velez Angel is on a two-game point streak, scoring one goal in each of the last two outings.
- Fisher extended his point streak to two, potting his fifth of the season.
