Davis Picks up GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week, Again

BOSTON – For the second time this season, Jarrett Davis of the Suffolk men's soccer team was named the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Davis assisted on Jordan Casey's second stanza score to help the No. 4 Rams secure a spot in the GNAC semifinals as Suffolk downed No. 5  Albertus Magnus, 2-0, in the conference quarterfinals Saturday afternoon.

The handout marks Davis' ninth of the season, which is the most by a Ram in the past 12 years, and currently leads the league and team.

The honor marks the second of Davis career as he was recognized as the best rookie over a seven day stretch Oct. 10. Davis' two awards combined with Alberto Bittan's three and Christian Restrepo's and Kyle Van Cleef's single nods apiece bring Suffolk's 2016 total to seven.

Davis and Suffolk ready for the semifinals Tuesday, Nov. 1 when the Rams trek to Standish, Maine, for a showdown at regular season champion and the top seed Saint Joseph's (Maine). Game time is slated for 2:30 p.m. at Westerlea Way Field.
