LAST TIME OUT
It took one overtime, but the Suffolk men's soccer team escaped from Emmanuel with a victory thanks to a Alberto Bittan goal in the 92nd minute to clinch the win.

#RAMSFANFEST
For the second straight year, Suffolk Athletics invites all members of Ram Nation to East Boston Memorial Park for a double feature soccer contest and #RamsFanFest Saturday, Oct. 15.

DOUBLE FEATURE
For the fifth time in 2016, the Suffolk men's and women's soccer teams will be playing in a double header. The men's squad gets Saturday's showdowns started as the Rams take on Anna Maria at 1 p.m., followed by the women's Senior Day contest against Mount Ida at 3:30 p.m. The men are 2-2 when playing in a Suffolk double feature, while the women's squad is 3-1 in a doubleheader.  

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk returned to the win column in overtime fashion Columbus Day with a 1-0 shutout against Emmanuel to level its record at 6-6 and move to 4-2 in conference competition, good for fourth in the league standings. 

The Rams offense has been a powerful threat this season, seeing nine different players score a goal to total 29, which lands fourth amongst the league. Alberto Bittan has been the key ingredient to Suffolk's success with the senior holding with a league-best in goals (12) and points (28).  Bittan belongs to a trio of Rams with four handouts as Joran Casey and Jarrett Davis all tie for a team-high in assists and third in the conference. Davis and Casey are also scoring threats for Suffolk with the sophomore and freshman scoring three goals apiece. 

Jon Brodeur has stood tall in net for Suffolk as of late. The freshman keeper boasts a 4-3 record with three shutouts thanks to 31 saves (.705). Kyle Van Cleef has also seen prominent action between the pipes for the Rams as the sophomore is 2-3 on the season with 27 saves to his credit. Both Ram keepers have allowed 13 goals. 

A BIT ABOUT THE AMCATS
Anna Maria was swept in its past two outings – dropping a 3-0 game at Emmaneul, before losing a 4-0 contest against Saint Joseph's (Maine) – to move to 2-9-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in league play.   

Christopher Mattioli leads the AMCATS in all offensive categories as the senior has six goals and two assists for 14 points. Gift Kalombo has also produced double figures points thanks to a five-goal effort this season. 

In net, four different keeprs have seen time. Mark Robinshaw has started eight games for Anna Maria, allowing 31 goals (3.84 GAA), while picking pu 65 saves (.677) and is responsible for both of the AMCATS victories this season.  

INSIDE THE SERIES
Since 2011, Suffolk is 4-1 against Anna Maria. The Rams strung together four straight wins against the AMCATS, but suffered their first defeat to Anna Maria a year ago, 4-1.       

EYES ON THE GAME
 

OVERTIME
Suffolk played in its second overtime game of 2016 Oct. 10, but for the first time since 2014, the Rams came out on the winning side when the blue and gold defeated Emmanuel 1-0. The last time Suffolk won an overtime contest was a 2-1 double overtime win against Regis Sept. 17,2 014. 

SHUTOUT
The Rams shutout over Albertus Magnus Sept. 10 was the first time Suffolk kept an opponent scoreless since a 2-0 win versus Johnson & Wales Sept. 27, 2014. On Oct. 10, Suffolk recorded its fourth cleansheet of the season; the most for the Rams since blanking match that number in 2012.  

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
After a career day, freshman Jarrett Davis of the Suffolk men's soccer team has beennamed the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Oct. 10

BACK-TO-BACK
Suffolk notched back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2013 when it blanked Anna Maria (4-0, Sept. 21) and Eastern Nazarene (3-0, Sept. 25). 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK, AGAIN
Alberto Bittan of the Suffolk men's soccer team once again was tabbed the GNAC Corvias Player of the Week after an 11-point, 2-1 week for the Rams the conference office announced Sept. 19.

HATS OFF
Alberto Bittan knocked in three goals against UMass Dartmouth Sept. 4, becoming the first Ram to register a hat trick since Djibril Niang did so against the Corsairs Oct. 28, 2014. He repeated a three-goal game performance against Regis Sept. 17, becoming the first Suffolk player to net two hat tricks in one season since Danny Lloyd scored a pair in 2010. 

GOALIE OF THE WEEK
For the second straight week a member of the Suffolk men's soccer team was honored by the conference as sophomore keeper Kyle Van Cleef was named GNAC Corvias Goalie of the Week following a shutout performance in the Rams' league opener.

CONFERENCE OPENER
Suffolk won its conference opener for the first time since defeating Anna Maria in the first league game of the 2012 season, 9-0. 

SCORING FRENZY
Suffolk's five goals in the 6-5 setback to UMass Dartmouth Sept. 4 are the most for the Rams since Suffolk matched that number versus Anna Maria Oct. 13, 2014. 

SUFFOLK FREE RADIO
Suffolk Athletics has teamed up with Suffolk Free Radio to bring Ram Nation 17 live broadcasts of Suffolk soccer games this season.
