BOSTON – The Suffolk men's soccer team heads out on the road for the first time in two weeks as the Rams travel to Mount Ida Wednesday, Oct. 3 for a 7 p.m. GNAC contest.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's soccer team snapped its two-game skid in shutout fashion Oct. 1 as the Rams blanked Lasell, 3-0, at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk  moved to 4-5 on the season a 2-1 in GNAC play following its 3-0 win over Lasell. With six points, the Rams are in fifth place in the conference standings. 

Eight different Rams have found the back of the net this season to total 24 goals for Suffolk, which is tied for third in the league. Alberto Bittan's 11 tallies continue to lead the way for the team and for the conference while the senior's 26 points also sit atop the league. Jordan Casey is second on the team with three goals and three assists, while Aaron Haggas is right behind with four goals. 

In net, sophomore Kyle Van Cleef and Jon Brodeur have split time. Brodeur is 2-2 with one shutout, 23 saves and a 2.26 goals-against average. Van Cleer, meanwhile, sports a 2-3 ledger with 27 stops and a 2.49 goals-against average. 

MUSTANGS MUST KNOWS
Mount Ida has lost back-to-back one-goal games to slip to 4-5-2 on the year and 1-2-1 in conference play.   

Juan Brenes' is the lone Mustangs in double digit points thanks to six goals and one assist. Michael Porcello is second on the team in points (4) with two goals to his credit, while Cody Seel and Jt Yager each have three with one tally and one handout apiece. 

Riley Ford has seen all the action in between the pipes for Mt. Ida. The junior keeper owns 51 stops and a 1.38 goals-against average with all four of his wins coming in shutout fashion.   

INSIDE THE SERIES
Since 2003, Suffolk is 7-3-2 against Mt. Ida. In the past two seasons, the Rams and Mustangs went into double overtime with neither team able to come out the victor. Overall, Suffolk has outscored Mt. Ida, 24-14, with the two teams needing extra time for a decision five times.   

EYES ON THE GAME
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK, AGAIN
Alberto Bittan of the Suffolk men's soccer team once again was tabbed the GNAC Corvias Player of the Week after an 11-point, 2-1 week for the Rams the conference office announced Sept. 19.

HATS OFF
Alberto Bittan knocked in three goals against UMass Dartmouth Sept. 4, becoming the first Ram to register a hat trick since Djibril Niang did so against the Corsairs Oct. 28, 2014. He repeated a three-goal game performance against Regis Sept. 17, becoming the first Suffolk player to net two hat tricks in one season since Danny Lloyd scored a pair in 2010. 

GOALIE OF THE WEEK
For the second straight week a member of the Suffolk men's soccer team was honored by the conference as sophomore keeper Kyle Van Cleef was named GNAC Corvias Goalie of the Week following a shutout performance in the Rams' league opener.

CONFERENCE OPENER
Suffolk won its conference opener for the first time since defeating Anna Maria in the first league game of the 2012 season, 9-0. 

SHUTOUT
The Rams shutout over Albertus Magnus Sept. 10 was the first time Suffolk kept an opponent scoreless since a 2-0 win versus Johnson & Wales Sept. 27, 2014. 

SCORING FRENZY
Suffolk's five goals in the 6-5 setback to UMass Dartmouth Sept. 4 are the most for the Rams since Suffolk matched that number versus Anna Maria Oct. 13, 2014. 

#RAMSFANFEST
For the second straight year, Suffolk Athletics invites all members of Ram Nation to East Boston Memorial Park for a double feature soccer contest and #RamsFanFest Saturday, Oct. 15.

Suffolk Athletics has teamed up with Suffolk Free Radio to bring Ram Nation 17 live broadcasts of Suffolk soccer games this season.
