Men’s Soccer Season Comes to a Close in GNAC Quarterfinals at JWU

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Suffolk men's soccer team had its 2015 season come to a close Sunday afternoon with a tough loss to Johnson & Wales in the Quarterfinals of the GNAC Tournament. The eighth-seeded Rams were blanked by the regular season champions and top-seed Johnson & Wales, 9-0, at the Scotts MG Complex.

Suffolk ends its season 2-16-1 overall. The Wildcats, meanwhile, advance to Wednesday night's semifinals, improving to 15-4 overall.

For nearly the first 30 minutes of action it was a back-and-forth affair with neither team striking, but once JWU made its move, a goal by Xacier Carty, it did not stop rolling past the Rams. Carty went on to net a hat trick in the victory with Tucker Macpherson and Teagan Drake adding two scores each. Greg Kerns and Chris Schmid added a goal apiece to the Wildcats' nine-goal offense.

Nicholas Chamma made one save in his final collegiate game for the blue-and-gold, while Johnson & Wales' keeper Nick Tolman stopped all three of the Rams' attempts to lock up the victory.
