BOSTON – The Suffolk men's soccer team will travel to Providence, Rhode Island this weekend to compete in the 2015 GNAC Championships. The No. 8 seed Rams will take on the top seed and regular season champions Johnson & Wales Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at the Scotts Athletic Complex on the Wildcats' campus.

LAST TIME OUT
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's Matt Vidal sent in a free kick from 20 feet out in the 81st minute to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Corsairs over Suffolk, 2-1, Tuesday evening at Cressy Field.

RUN DOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk finished the regular season with a 2-15-1 record overall and a 2-6-1 GNAC mark. 

In 18 games, the Rams are averaging 0.611 goals per game with their opponents netting 3.22 goals per outing. Suffolk has been out-shot by opposing teams, 327-177 on the year and has notched seven assists compared to its opponents 51. 

Individually, freshman Jordan Casey leads the team team in all offensive categories with four assists to go with three goals for 10 points. Senior Nicholas Chamma has a 2.99 goals against average and .631 save percentage through 15 starts. 

WILDCATS WAYS
Johnson & Wales enter the postseason with a 14-4 record overall and a GNAC regular season title already this year with an 8-1 league mark. The Wildcats' lone GNAC loss came at Mount Ida on Sept. 26 in overtime. Since that game, JWU rides a nine game win streak, with five victories coming in shutouts. 

This season, JWU averaged 2.67 goals per game and gave up 1.00 to opponents. The Wildcats have outshot their competition, 348-206. Tucker Macpherson is the Wildcats' leading scorer with 11 tallies and has added six assists as well. Byron Arboleda and Andrew Vecere have each handed out a ten-high seven assists with Arboleda netting nine goals and Vecere finding the back of the net seven times. 

Goalkeeper Nick Tolman has four shutouts on the season as the senior has made 15 starts with a 1.14 goals-against average and a .742 save percentage. 

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk and Johnson & Wales first met this season on Columbus Day when the Wildcats put on an offensive show, taking down the Rams, 7-0.
