Men’s Soccer Advances to GNAC Championships as No. 8 Seed

BOSTON – The GNAC released the 2015 Men's Soccer Championship bracket Sunday and featured Suffolk University as the No. 8 seed. 

The Rams will take on regular season champions and top-seeded Johnson & Wales Sunday, Nov. 1 in the opening round of the conference tournament on the Wildcats' campus. 

Suffolk and JWU met earlier this season back on Oct. 12 in Providence, Rhode Island where the Wildcats took down the Rams, 7-0. 

The Rams finished the GNAC regular season with a 2-14-1 overall record and a 2-6-1 mark in GNAC play, record, good for eighth. Suffolk will wrap up the regular season in non-conference action at UMass Dartmouth Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.

GNAC regular season champions JWU dominated conference play with an 8-1 record in league play and 13-4 record overall this season. Its lone conference loss came at Mount Ida September 26 in overtime, 2-1. Since then, the Wildcats are on an eight game winning streak, with five of those contests ending in shutouts. Johnson & Wales will conclude its regular season action Tuesday night with a non-conference contest against Rhode Island College. 

Suffolk will have another shot at JWU Sunday with the winner advancing to the semifinals Wednesday, Nov. 4. The winner of Suffolk/JWU will face the winner of #5 Emmanuel/#4 Norwich. The championship game will be played Saturday, Nov. 7.
