Men’s Soccer Downed at Albertus Magnus, 4-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Suffolk men's soccer team dropped a GNAC contest at Albertus Magnus, 4-0, Wednesday night at Celentano Field.

Albertus Magnus' (9-6, 4-4 GNAC) Justyn Broderick's goal in the 3rd minute was all the squad needed to secure today's victory. Alex Zapata set up Broderick on a breakaway, who chipped in his fourth tally of the season past Suffolk's (1-14-1, 1-6-1 GNAC) netminder Nicholas Chamma

The home team stretched its lead to 2-0 in the 37th minute when Ritchy Jean pierre caught enough of the ball off a blocked shot to slip it by Chamma.

Similar to the first-half the Falcons scored within the first three minutes. Zapata tucked it in over Chamma's gloves to put Albertus Magnus up 3-0.

Zapata set-up Matt Mueller in the 68th minute on a penalty cross for the final 4-0 tally.

Chamma made six saves in the setback, while Albertus Magnus held advantages in shots, 25-7, including shots on goal, 10-1, and corners, 7-3.

Suffolk returns to action Saturday when it travels to Emmanuel for a 1p.m. match.
