Men’s Soccer Bested at Johnson & Wales

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Suffolk men's soccer team suffered a 7-0 setback Monday afternoon, falling at Johnson & Wales at the Scotts Athletic Complex.

In the 24th minute the Wildcats (10-4, 5-1 GNAC) took the lead on a Doug Kase goal feed by Andrew Vecere. Vecere feed the ball across the box and Kase placed it in the netting in the lower left.

Tucker MacPherson added two goals within one minutes of each other to give JWU insurance in the 25th and 26th minutes. His first tally was off a spin move at the top of the box of a Vecere pass. The pair connected again on a cross into the center box and MacPherson put it away it from 10-yards out.

Xavier Carty got on the scoresheet and stretched the Wildcats' lead to 4-0 when he scored at the 40th minute mark. Yohann Assouramou had the assist on the score.

JWU tacked on three second-half tallies from Kase, Stuart Walker and Assouramou for the final 7-0.

The Wildcats outshot Suffolk (0-12-1, 0-5-1 GNAC), 25-4, including shots on target, 11-0, and held a 7-2 advantage in corners.

Suffolk returns to the pitch Saturday afternoon at Rivier at 7 p.m.
