Men’s Soccer Falls at Lesley, 2-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Suffolk men's soccer team battled Lesley on Monday evening in a crosstown rivalry matchup, but it was the Lynx that came away with a 2-0 victory over the Rams at Edward Field.

Suffolk (0-4-1), which mustered five shots, all on target, was held in check by the stingy Lesley defense. The Lynx attack capitalized on its number of chances and found the back of the net twice thanks to Chris Anderson and Harrison Sidell.

After a scoreless 10 minutes, the Rams nearly connected on a corner. Fernando Tome sent a booming corner in, but the box was filled with players in white who took advantage. From there, Lesley's Wilton Zuo coasted up the field feed Anderson. In the 13th minute, Anderson, a junior midfielder, shot out of the reach of Nicholas Chamma's mitts into the lower, left corner.

Attempts came at both ends of the field as each respective keeper made the catches to keep it a 1-0 game in favor of the Lynx at the half.

Sidell tapped home a Mahmound Chabarek pass in the 76th minute to seal the deal.

Suffolk returns to the field at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 for a date at Regis.
