Cohen, Parmelee Lift Men's Soccer Past Albertus, 4-2

Senior Andres Cohen (Caracas, Venezuela) and Tyler Parmelee (Colchester, Conn.) each scored a pair of goals to lift the Suffolk University Men's Soccer team past the Albertus Magnus College Falcons in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action by a 4-2 margin on Monday evening.

Suffolk would score four unanswered goals to snap a three game skid as they improve to a 4-9 mark and 2-5 in GNAC action on the season.

Albertus jumped out quick to an early 2-0 edge in the game's first eleven minutes.

Senior Dan Dwyer (Hamden, Conn.) put in his first tally of the season just 2:20 into the contest for the early Falcons' lead as he was set up by freshman Alexis Garcia (West Haven, Conn.).

Garcia would play a roll in the next Falcons' goal as he fed a cross pass to senior Ross Suleski (Amesbury, Mass.) who knocked in his fourth goal of the season in the 11th minute.

Suffolk would cut the Albertus lead in half in the game's twenty-fourth minute as Parmelee converted on a feed from freshman Artem Axelrod (Moscow, Russia) as both teams headed into the break with the score 2-1.

Cohen would score his first goal of the contest in the thirty-ninth minute as he headed in a ball that was started on a free kick by senior Jeff Williams (Geneva, Ill.) to even things up.

Parmelee would net the game-winner at the sixty-ninth minute as he put home his third goal on the year.

Cohen would strike again as he came streaking down the left side of the field putting home his team leading ninth goal of the 2013 campaign for some insurance with less than ninety seconds in regulation to seal the Suffolk victory.

Sophomore Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) made eight saves, including six in the second half to preserve the win for the Rams.

Senior Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) made four saves in goal for the Falcons who fall to a 4-8-1 mark on the year and 1-4-1 GNAC record.

Albertus held a 20-15 overall edge in shots during the contest.

Both teams will be back in action later this week. Albertus will host Anna Maria College in GNAC action on Thursday at 3:15pm. Suffolk will host Salve Regina University in non-conference action on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00pm.
