Beacons Top Men's Soccer 1-0

The Suffolk University Men's Soccer fell to the UMass Boston Beacons, 1-0 on Tuesday evening at Dilboy Stadium in their 2013 regular season home opener.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) made 11 saves in the net for the Rams who drop their second consecutive game by a one goal deficit to start the season.

The Rams came on strong in the second half putting out nine shots in the period, but were unable to beat Beacons' sophomore goalkeeper Alfonso Rosales (Revere, Mass.). Rosales made five saves in the game, including four in the second half. He made a diving save in the game's seventieth minute on a shot by sophomore Tyler Parmelee (Colchester, Conn.). Senior Jeff Williams (Geneva, Ill.) had a free kick in the final minute of the contest from 20 yards out that was also stopped by Rosales whose efforts in goal help propel the Beacons to a 2-1 mark on the year.

Freshman Edmilson Barros (Boston, Mass.) scored the game's lone goal in the twenty ninth minute of the contest on a shot from 30 yards out that found it's way to the back of the net.

Suffolk will be back in action on Saturday evening as they host Emerson College in non-league action beginning at 6:00pm at Dilboy Stadium.
