Rams, Lasers Tie 1-1

Newton, MA - The Suffolk University Rams (3-0-1 overall, 0-0-1 GNAC) and the Lasell College Lasers (3-1-1 overall, 0-0-1 GNAC) played to 1-1 tie Thursday afternoon as both teams opened up their 2009 GNAC schedules in a makeup from this past Saturday.

Junior goalkeeper Jack DeJesus (Swampscott, MA) made nine saves in 110 minutes, while Lasers' goalkeeper Julian Dutton (Madison, CT) matched his play making 11 saves in the contest.

The Lasers jumped out to a 1-0 when senior Paul Meucci (Vernon, CT) scored his second goal of the season unassisted at 19:26.

Sophomore Danny Lloyd (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) scored the game-tying goal at 54:05 on an unassisted goal. It was Llyod's fifth goal of the season, as he has scored in each of Suffolk's first four games.

The Rams had opportunities in the extra two periods to score outshooting the Lasers 4-1, but could not convert a game-winner. The Lasers put out a total of 24 shots in the game, compared the Suffolk's 14.

Both teams are in action this weekend and they continue their conference schedule. Lasell will host Emerson on Saturday at noon, while the Rams host Norwich University at 5:00pm Dilboy Stadium in Somerville.
