BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey has a full weekend in store with a home-and-home Conference of New England (CNE) series with the University of New England. The Rams will head to Biddeford, Maine Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:0 p.m. before hosting the Nor'Easters Saturday, Nov. 23 at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink at 3:20 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
All the scoring came in the third period and the Rams and Bison traded goals to be deadlocked after regulation and neither Suffolk men's hockey nor Nichols broke through in the overtime to end in a 1-1 stalemate in Conference of New England (CNE) action Saturday night at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.  

Michael McEachern broke open the scoreless shootout in the fifth round to clinch the extra CNE point for the blue-and-gold.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk fell to Nichols before it tied the Bison to bring a 3-2-1 overall record and 1-2-1 CNE mark into the weekend.  

Four different players have produced three points to lead the Rams' 12-goal offense in Gavin Havens (1g, 2a), Scott McManus (2g, 1a), Josh Milso (2g, 1a) and Ryan Webb (1g, 2a). 

CJ Hapward has played every minute it net. He sports a 1.47 GAA and .942 save percentage with a 3-2-1 overall mark.  

NOR'EASTER NOTES
UNE was swept in its home-and-home series with then-No. 15 Endicott to dip to 3-2-0 on the year and 2-2-0 in CNE contests.  

Jayden Price has provided seven points to the Nor'Easters 20-goal scoring unit. His stat line features two goals and a team-best five helpers. Drew Olivieri (1g, 5a), Anthony Sciucco (3g, 3a), Cam Bergeman (3g, 3a) and Dominic Murphy (5g, 1a) have all contributed six points apiece.  

Joe Stanizzi and Stefan Carney have split time in between the posts this year. Stanizzi has assembled a 2.71 GAA and .921 save percentage in four games, all starts. Carney, meanwhile, has put together a 1.48 GAA and .944 save percentage in two appearances, one start.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, UNE series started in 2011-12. 
  • The Rame are 1-13-1 all-time against the Nor'Easters. 
  • Suffolk is 1-7-1 when hosting UNE. 
  • The Rams have yet to defeat the Nor'Easters in Biddeford, Maine (0-6-0). 
  • Three games between Suffolk and UNE have gone into overtime, including the last meeting, Nov. 18, 2023. 
  • Suffolk is 0-2-1 in OT versus the Nor'Easters.
