Men’s Hockey Blanked at Southern Maine, 4-0

GORHAM, Maine – Suffolk men's hockey was kept off the scoreboard Saturday as Southern Maine bested the Rams, 4-0, at USM Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Huskies struck twice in the opening period over a 4:27 span to gain a two-goal edge. USM never looked back from there as it added one goal in the second and third period, respectively, while Paul Leger turned aside all 24 of the Rams attempts for the 4-0 final in the hosts favor.   

NETMINDER NOTES

  • Cal Wilcox had 20 saves in 49:46 of action. 
  • Jarret Bovarnick picked up all four shots he faced in 10:14 of relief. 
  • Leger shutout the Rams with a 24-save performance.

Suffolk wraps up its home calendar this weekend when it welcomes Babson and UMass Boston to Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink. The Rams will first entertain the Beavers Friday, Feb. 7, before battling the Beacons Saturday, Feb. 8. Both contests are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts.
