BOSTON – UMass Boston was too much for Suffolk men's hockey as the Rams fell to the No. 8/11 Beacons, 4-1, Friday night in NEHC action at Edward T. Barry Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMass started right from the get-go as the Beacons' first possession turned into a goal. Daniel Nachbaur found Garrison Sanipass wide open on Michael Levine's stick season the Sanipass easily tucked the puck away to give the hosts a 1-0 lead just 21 seconds into the action.
David Lappin made it a new game halfway through the second period. The junior lit the lamp at the 11:30 minute mark with help from Connor Henry and Connor Parent to level the playing field at 1-all.
The Beacons responded less than three minutes later as Chris Peters regained the one-goal edge for the hosts. Zack Bross stretched Boston's advantage even further with under three minutes left on the clock before the second intermission to send Suffolk into the locker room for the second time down 3-1.
Suffolk's comeback was kept at bay as the team's battled in back-and-forth action for the majority of the third. Peters locked up the victory for the Beacons with his second score of the night at the 16:43 minute mark to put a three-goal, 4-1, distance between the conference foes.
NETMINDER NOTES
- Levine made a 37-save effort in between the pipes.
- Bailey MacBurnie backstopped the Beacons to victory with a 21-save performance.
STATISTCALLY SPEAKING
- Lappin was responsible for the Rams' lone goal with C. Henry and Parent assisting on the marker.
- UMass held a hefty 41-22 shots advantage.
- Suffolk won the battle in the face-off dot, 33-27.
NOTEWORTHY
- The blue-and-gold tangled with their sixth ranked opponent of the 2018-19 campaign.
- Suffolk and UMass Boston met for the 17th time.
- C. Henry extended his point streak to four in a row. In that stretch he has notched four points off one goal and three helpers.
- Parent has posted points in back-to-back games. The senior recorded two points in the last two outings on one goal and one assist.
