Bryan Picks Up Second NEHC Player of the Week Nod

BOSTON – Mikhail Bryan of the Suffolk men's hockey team was recognized by the league as NEHC Player of the Week after producing seven points in 3-0 week for the Rams, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Bryan became the first-ever Suffolk student-athlete to be tabbed the best player over a seven-day stretch by the NEHC after a six-point week December 10 and takes home his second honor of the season. Overall, the Rams have collected four weekly accolades from the league this year with Bryan's classmate Michael Levine holding a pair of NEHC Goaltender of the Week nods.

To open the week, the senior captain netted what would be the eventual game-winner in 4-1 victory at Fitchburg State Tuesday, Jan. 8. Three days later, he opened the home-and-home series with Johnson & Wales with a two-assist day in the 6-2 victory. The Dayton, Ohio native exploded the following day, matching his personal bests in goals (2) and points (2) in a come-from-behind 8-6 win over the Wildcats on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Bryan has been instrumental to Suffolk's success thus far this season and buoys the Rams' 50-goal offense with 21 points on seven strikes and a team-best 14 set-ups. His 21 points are good for third in the league, while his 14 assists sit second in the conference.

Bryan and the Rams are back in action this weekend when they welcome Southern Maine and New England College to Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink for conference clashes. Suffolk first hosts the Huskies Friday, Jan. 18, before the Pilgrims stop by the next day, Saturday, Jan. 19. Both league outings are slated for 7 p.m. puck drops.
