SNHU Takes Down Men’s Hockey, 5-2, in Non-Conference Finale

HOOKSETT, N.H. – Suffolk men's hockey fell behind early and could not make up enough ground as the Rams suffered a 5-2 setback to SNHU Saturday night at the Ice Den.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2, SNHU 5
RECORDS: Suffolk (6-8-2) | SNHU (5-3-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Penman took a 2-0 early advantage scoring a pair of goals of a 3:04 span in the first period with Kyle Valliere and Jared Goudreau each finding the back of the netting.

Over the course of the second set of 20 minutes, SNHU stretched its advantage to five goals as Timothy Baylis, Aretm Efimov-Barako and Chris Moquin all potted the puck for the Penmen.

Trailing by five, Tommy Bishop eliminated the shutout for Suffolk with the junior scoring thanks to feed from linemates sophomore David Lappin and Connor Parent just five minutes into the final period. Brian Brooks trimmed the margin to a trio of goals at the 16:14 minute mark thanks to a setup by Connor Henry

Suffolk could not get any closer, however, as SNHU's defense backstopped by Kurt Gutting in net kept the Rams off the scoreboard the remainder of the way as the score held in the Penmen's favor, 5-2.
