Levine Collects Second CCC Goalie of the Week Honor

BOSTON – For the second time this season, Michael Levine of the Suffolk men's hockey team has been tabbed the best netminder over a seven day stretch as the junior was named CCC Goalie of the Week after a 2-0 week in net with 73 saves and 0.50 goals allowed, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Levine's two victories came over Western New England as the Rams swept the regular season series with the Golden Bears for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

To open action, the Clarendon Hill, Illinois product turned aside 35 shots and let one puck past the goal line in a 2-1 win in Charlestown. Levine followed that effort with a career-nigh, saving 38 attempts in a 5-0 shutout over WNE in West Springfield, Massachusetts, Saturday. The junior's second collegiate shutout marks the first time Suffolk blanked the Golden Bears since 2001.

Levine's second weekly award of the season marks the third time a Rams has been recognized by the conference this year with freshman Matt Bucher earning rookie recognition in the first weekly release of the year.

Levine and Suffolk take their two-game win streak into the Manchester Pal/Stovepipe Tournament after the Thanksgiving holiday where they open action versus UMass Dartmouth at the Ice Den in Hooksett, New Hampshire.
