Men’s Hockey Places 14 on Spring Academic All-CCC Team

BOSTON – Suffolk hockey saw 14 of its student-athletes recognized for their success inside the classroom with a spot on the 2017 CCC Spring All-Academic Team, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

The academic all-conference honor rewards varsity student-athletes who attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher in their second year of competition (sophomore) or above. The Spring CCC All-Academic Team encompasses student-athletes who participated in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, men's hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's tennis and softball. 

Overall, hockey earned the ost recognition of CCC's sports with 116 men's hockey student-athletes earning the distinction. The Rams' 14 nods rank the third most among its CCC conference counterparts just one behind second-place Endicott (15) and six shy of the leader Curry (20). Suffolk saw the most student-athletes earn the recognition among CCC men's hockey affiliate members landing in front of Johnson & Wales (13) and Becker (10). 

Suffolk's 14 honorees were comprised of a pair of juniors – Jack Jenkins, Luke Miller – a quartet of seniors – Connor Lawrence, Brett Lawson, Simon Leahy, Danyil Medvedev – and eight members of the sophomore class – Shayne Bailey, Tommy Bishop, Brendan Heinze, Connor Henry, Sean Henry, Michael Levine, Dominic Rovero
