CHARLESTOWN, Mass. – Salve Regina was too much for the Suffolk men's hockey team in its 2017 home debut as the Seahawks used a two-goal performance from Shaun Patry and an 18-save, shutout effort by Blake Wojtala to stun the Rams, 5-0, Thursday night at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Patry gave the Seahawks the only goal they would need just 1:43 into the contest, and Salve Regina took control of the game with four tallies in the final 7:10 of the middle stanza that featured markers from Patry and freshman Jack Billings in a 21 second span. Seniors Jonathan Felteau and Tommy Evangelista also scored in the second period flourish for the visitors, and Wojtala took care of the rest in the net for the Seahawks.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Patry, Evangelista and Evan Schultz led the way with two points apiece. Patry lit the lamp twice, Evangelista scored once and had a hand in other with Schultz dishing out two handouts.
- Billings and Felteau were responsible for Salve's other two markers, with Kevin Clare, Chase Hatcher, Kyle Moore and Cameron Russo all recording one assist apiece.
- The Seahawks outshot the Rams by a 37-18 margin for the evening, including a 27-14 advantage over the first two periods alone.
KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
- Senior Kevin Venturoso made 22 saves over the first two periods of play between the pipes for Suffolk, which also received 10 stops from sophomore Michael Levine over the final 20 minutes of action.
- Wojtala earned his second shutout triumph of the season over the Rams, whom he also blanked by a 6-0 margin back on Nov. 5, thanks to his 18-save performance.
