Men's Hockey Holds Intersquad Scrimmage at Frozen Fenway

BOSTON – Thursday, Jan. 5 will go inside Suffolk men's hockey's record books as the Rams took the ice at legendary Fenway Park apart of the Capital One Frozen Fenway 2017

The Rams' one-hour skate at the home of the Boston Red Sox featured an intersquad White vs. Blue scrimmage. Under the shade of the Green Monster on a 30-degree, Sunny Day in Boston, the White Squad took down the Blue, 8-6. For his effort in net for the White Team, senior netminder Kevin Venturoso was named Player of the Game.

"Today was a great day to be a Ram," said head coach Chris Glionna. "It was amazing to play at such a historic venue. Both teams competed very hard."

Capital One Frozen Fenway 2017 is a two-week series of hockey and ice skating events from January 3-16, 2017, that showcase Fenway Sports Group's commitment to bringing unique, world class events to historic Fenway Park and the residents of Boston. The 14-day stretch at Fenway Park will feature a pair of Hockey East doubleheaders, men's and women's Division III matchups and seven high school games.

Suffolk used the scrimmage to prep for its 2017 debut Saturday, Jan. 7 when Franklin Pierce stops by Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Rink for an out-of-league contest. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
