Men’s Hockey Skates to 2-2 Tie with Nichols

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. – Sophomore Brendan Heinze's goal with 16 seconds remaining in regulation lifted the Suffolk men's hockey team to a 2-2 overtime tie with Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday night at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2, Nichols 2
RECORDS: Suffolk (3-6-3, 1-6-2 CCC) | Nichols (6-3-2, 5-1-2 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Heinze's heroics came as the host Rams pulled their goalie for an extra attacker with 1:08 remaining in regulation, as he converted passes from fellow sophomores Connor Parent and Nick Mosher on the equalizer and his first tally of the season.

The visiting Bison had jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the opening 17:52 of action, as freshman Vincent Crivello netted his third collegiate marker on feeds from fellow freshmen Nicholas Mangone and Hogan Davidson 14:21 into the game before sophomore Blake Kelley extended Nichols' edge with his second goal of the year on a turnover at the Suffolk blueline just 3:31 later.

The Rams got on the board with 44 seconds remaining in the opening stanza when sophomore Sean Henry collected his second goal of the season on passes from sophomore Connor Henry and freshman Brian Brooks, and that score held up until Heinze's tying tally in the closing seconds of regulation.  The two teams
