CHARLESTOWN, Mass. - The Suffolk men's hockey team pulled within one with 48 seconds remaining in regulation, but could not complete the comeback as Endicott beat the Reams, 3-2, in CCC action at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With less than five minutes to play in the first period Endicott broke open the scoring and put two away in a 38 second span to take a 2-0 lead. Over the second set of 20 minutes, the teams traded goals and the Gulls held onto their two-goal advantage.
As time ticked away in the third period neither team was able to grab an upper hand. Playing down two goals, Suffolk saw an opportunity with Endicott's Jason Kalinowski sitting for two for cross checking. The Rams' pulled Michael Levine from between the pipes and went 6-on-4 and scored with just 20 seconds left of the power play to make it a one-goal game.
Endicott controlled the final 48 seconds of regulation to secure the conference victory.
GOALS
- With Shayne Bailey in the box for interference, Endicott controlled the action in Suffolk's zone. A scurry in front of Levine tested the sophomore goalie and Tommy Besinger flipped one over the sophomore stick side to make it a 1-0 Gulls game. Kalinowski and Jack Kilty set up the score.
- Endicott struck again just 38 seconds later immediately off a faceoff from the left circle. Jack Musil won the tussle in the circle with John Carricato picking up the puck, dishing to Brendan Shane, who found Musil right in front for the 2-0 lead.
- Midway through the second stanza the Gulls stretched their advance to three thanks to an even-strength snipe from Joseph Slovak. The sophomore forward sealed his third goal of the season stick season thanks to feeds from John Carricato and Ryan Dougherty.
- The Rams got on the board with less than one minute to play before the second intermission. On a breakaway, Stanton Turner skated up the right side and found classmate Danyil Medvedev front and center. The senior forward's shot top right and was successful to keep things interesting.
- Connor Lawrence put the puck into the pack in front of the net where Medevdev slipped it to Tommy Bishop, who scored at 19:12 to put Suffolk within one, 3-2.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Medvedev led the Rams with two points on one goal and one handout. Bishop netted the other Suffolk goal with Lawrence and Turner each dishing out an assist apiece.
- Endicott commanded shots, holding a 39-25 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Gulls also held an edge inside the face-off circle, 44-31.
KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
- Levine faced 39 shots and made 36 saves.
- Aldridge turned aside 23 shots in the winning effort.
