BOSTON – Two members of the Suffolk hockey team have received All-ECAC Northeast accolades, the league announced Friday morning. Junior Justin Selep was named to the All-ECAC Northeast second team, while senior Tyler Heineman received honorable mention nods.

Selep earns his first All-ECAC Northeast accolade, leading the team in goals (16) and points (27), which each rank second in the conference. The two-time ECAC Northeast Player of the Week's four game-winning goals rank first in the ECAC Northeast and tied for seventh nationally, and the forward also is first on the team in power-play goals with four and tied for second in assists (11). Selep was also named a Joe Concannon Award Semifinalist, the first Rams' player to do so since Kyle Cook '09 in 2009.

Heineman earned an honorable mention nod thanks to a strong performance at the blue line coupled with a resilient offensive showing. The senior captain was Suffolk's top defender in points with the second-most assists (11) and one goal scored.

The duo helped Suffolk to its highest win total with a 13-9-2 overall record, the most since matching that number in 2007-08 (13-14). The upperclassmen also played crucial roles in the Rams 9-5 trouncing of UMass Dartmouth January 21. Six skaters in blue-and-gold combined for the most scores by the Rams since December 4, 2002 in an 11-4 victory over Franklin Pierce. The highest of highs that Selep and Heineman lifted Suffolk to this season was a home playoff game Sunday, Feb. 28 when the fourth-seeded Rams will host the No. 5 seed Wentworth at 7 p.m. at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink.
