Holliday Named ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Justin Holliday of the Suffolk hockey team collected his third ECAC Northeast weekly honor of the season this afternoon as the conference office named him rookie of the week.

A first-year skater from Stow, Ohio, Holliday tallied three points over two contests to help Suffolk in a 1-1 week. Against Endicott, Holliday assisted on Shayne Bailey's score, who potted it in on the power play. In the second of a two-game week, Holliday slotted a pair of goals past Wester New England's goaltender, including the eventual game-winner. The award is the third of Holliday's career and the eighth for the Rams this season.

Holliday wasted little time making his name on the ice in Suffolk blue-and-gold as the freshman currently ranks third on the team in points (14) with seven goals and seven helpers. His scores are tied for second on the team, while his handouts are good sixth on the team.

Suffolk hockey is 12-5-2 on the season, 7-2-2 in conference contest and travels to Curry Thursday night for a 6:45 p.m. puck drop.
