BOSTON – Suffolk men's golf began its 2023 campaign with a 319-339 victory over Wentworth Friday afternoon at George Wright Golf Course. 

Three Rams took the first three spots to clinch the victory and remain unbeaten all-time against Wentworth. The head-to-head season-opening match marked a first for the blue-and-gold in its year-by-year record book, which dates back to 2008.  

Individually, junior transfer Jonathan Donovan shot a 76 to clinch the individual medalist spot in his Suffolk debut.

Jake Zirlin was two strokes behind his teammate in second and sophomore Christopher Sinopoli carded an 81 to round out the top three. 

Cameron Sinopoli and Mauro Stanchieri shared sixth as the seniors each scored an 84.  

Freshman Ryan Mollica made his collegiate debut with a ninth-place performance behind a score of 87. 

Suffolk will be back in action next weekend at the Duke Nelson Invitational. The two-day event will be held at Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vermont.
