Men’s Golf Set for RIC Homecoming Invitational Friday


BOSTON – Suffolk men's golf will take the greens of Valley Country Club in Warwick, Rhode Island, Friday, Oct. 4 for the Anchormen's RIC Homecoming Invitational. The one-day event is scheduled for a 9 a.m. tee time.

LAST TIME OUT
In the midst of its fall slate, the Suffolk men's golf team took to the links at the Hickory Ridge Country Club over the weekend for the Blazers Invitational hosted by Elms. The Rams combined for a team score of 639 after the two-day event to claim fifth in the field of nine.

TEE TIME
Five different groups will all tee-off at 9 a.m. across the Valley Country Club links in Warwick, Rhode Island.

THE COMPETITION
Joining Suffolk on the course will be the hosts, Rhode Island College, along with Western Connecticut State and Wentworth. 

THE COURSE
The Valley Country Club was first built in 1925 as a nine-hole course before it was extended to 18 in 1964. The private 72-par course is filled with challenging views, picturesque fairways, 51 bunkers, and three water holes making for a very challenging experience.

WHAT'S AHEAD?
The one-day tournament served as final prep before championships are up for grabs this fall with Suffolk's sights set on GNAC glory next weekend, Oct. 12-13 at the Gorham Country Club in Gorham, Maine.
