BOSTON - Elias Sachs has been dubbed the sole captain of the 2019 Suffolk men's golf team, head coach Ed McMellen announced.
"Elias has been a great leader over the last two seasons and I expect that to continue as the captain of the team this year," McMellen said. "This is the first time in 15 years I have officially name a captain and Elias is worthy of that honor."
Sachs has had a stand-up career thus far including contributing to SUffolk's highest finish at the GNAC Championships, fourth place, a year ago. Individually, the Arlington, Massachusettts, product has competed across 14 events over his three years, making the conference and NEIGA championship line-ups each season.
Suffolk and Sachs are set for a five-match fall slate that is scheduled to begin Sept. 14-15 at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vermont, at the Duke Nelson Invitational.
