Sachs Named to GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team

BOSTON – After helping Suffolk men's golf to its best performance at the GNAC Championships in program history, Elias Sachs was tabbed to the 2018 GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The conference's all-sportsmanship team was established to honor one player from each team in the league for outstanding dedication to sportsmanship and for their portrayal of good sportsmanship, fair play and a positive attitude.

Sachs, a native of Arlington, Massachusetts, has been a staple in Suffolk's line-up since he emerged on the collegiate course three years ago. The junior's best performance of the season came at the conference championships where he tied teammate Brian Dunleavy for 20th in the field of 45 with a card of 165.

Along with Sachs' honor, classmate Owen Boggini played his way onto the all-conference team with the best performance by a Suffolk student-athletes at the conference championship as the Tolland, Connecticut local finished in a tie for fifth with a score of 157. He became the first Ram to garner all-league accolades since Tim Benedetto did so in 2014.

Sachs and the Rams are currently in action at the NEIGA Championships at the Captains Golf Course.
