Men’s Golf Wins Emmanuel Invitational to Open Season

BOSTON – In its first competition of the season, all five Rams scored in the 80s or lower to lead the Suffolk men's golf team to the Emmanuel Invitational crown Wednesday afternoon at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. 

The Rams took the top spot on the leaderboard after an 18-hole day, combining for a 303, eight strokes ahead of runner-up Mitchell. Wentworth took third with a 314, while the hosts Emmanuel rounded out the quad-match with a 347. 

Suffolk junior Andrew Harper garnered individual honors shooting just two over par with a 72-stroke day. Classmate Demetrois Stamoulis was two off pace of his teammate, putting his way into second on the team and overall with a score of 74. 

Harper's and Stamoulis' fellow member of the Class of 2020 Elias Sachs putted a 76 to tie for fifth overall. 

Brian Dunleavy played in the No. 5 spot for the Rams in his collegiate debut and putted an 81 overall, while Owen Boggini, Suffolk's No. 2, put together a score of 83 to round out the Rams on the course.   

Suffolk returns to action in two weeks when it heads to the George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park for Emmanuel's Saints Invitational.
