Men’s Golf Defeats Eastern Nazarene

HINGHAM, Mass. The Suffolk men's golf team captured its second win of the season Thursday afternoon as the Rams spoiled Eastern Nazarene's first-ever home match. Suffolk out-shot the Lions, 324-428 at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham. 

The Rams were 104 strokes ahead of the meet's host and were led by Demetrois Stamouli. From the second spot, the freshman put together an impressive round with a 79 to capture the individual title. Stephen Ferrante was one stroke back to take second overall from the No. 3 position.  Suffolk's No. 4, senior Patrick Hambleton carded an 82 and rookie Owen Boggini rounded out the blue-and-gold's top team with an 83.

Suffolk fielded a second squad as an exhibition match. The Rams exhibition team also defeated the Lions as freshmen Elias Sachs, and Andrew Harper, senior Nick Cammarano and sophomore Daniel Caissie combined for a 376, 52 strokes ahead of Eastern Nazarene. 

Sachs put together an 88 to lead the way, which would have finished fifth overall, while Cammarao (93), Harper (96) and Caissie (99) all shot in the 90s. 

After the weekend off, Suffolk returns to the links for a one-day invitational, the EC Saints Invite Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. Tee time is schedule is set for 12 p.m.
