Men’s Golf Captures Emmanuel Invitational

BOSTON – In their first competition of the season, all five Rams cards scored in the 80s to lead the Suffolk men's golf team to the Emmanuel Invitational crown Wednesday afternoon at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. 

The Rams took the top spent on the leaderboard after an 18-hole day with a 329 points, while Daniel Webster, who sported the individual winner Clint Goodwin (76), was just 14 points back to take second. Emmanuel finished with

In his collegiate debut, freshman Demetrois Stamouli recorded an 80 out of the No. 5 spot to take second overall. Owen Boggini was one off the pace of his teammate and classmate with an 81, puttying himself in sole possession of third. Senior Patrick Hambelton's locked up fifth individually with an 83 from the No. 3 slot. Sophomore Stephen Ferrante rounded out the keeper scores with an 85 from the the first roster position. The card put the sophomore in a tie for seventh. 

Senior Mark Fusco's score of 87, which was good for 10th overall, was not included in the team's score. 

Suffolk returns to action this weekend when it travels to the Blazer Fall Invitational. The two-day invite will tee off at the Hickory Ridge Country Club Friday, Sept. 17.
