BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball makes the short trip across town Saturday, Feb. 3 for a Commonwealth Coast Conference city clash at Wentworth. The Rams and Wentworth are in store for a 12 p.m. matinee.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's basketball's saw its four-game win streak come to an end Wednesday night as Western New England got hot from 3-point range in the second half to take down the Rams, 78-65, in Commonwealth Coast Conference play. The Golden Bears' 66.7 (8-12) conversion rate from 3-point land in last 20 minutes proved to be the difference maker.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk strung a season-best four wins in a row before falling to Western New England, 78-65 Wednesday, to bring an 11-8 overall and 7-5 CCC record into Saturday. 

The upperclassmen trio of Evan Cook (17.1), Keenan Robertson (16.9) and Danny Yardemian (14.3) all average double figures in scoring to paces the Rams' 76.2 ppg offensive output. Yardemian has eclipsed the 20-point mark in the last three games including back-to-back career-best 24-point performances. 

Robertson and Yardemian are key factors on the defensive end as well. Robertson grabs a team-best 6.6 rpg to anchor the blue-and-gold's 36.4 rpg effort. Yardemian pulls down 4.8 rpg. Cole LeVangie adds 5.3 rpg.  

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth has logged three wins in a row – 72-58 vs. Curry, 82-67 at Hartford and 89-85 at UNE – to sit .500 (10-10) on the year and 5-6 in CCC action.  

Like Suffolk, three starters average double digits in scoring in Jack Connell (18.9), Tyler Stewart (17.7) and Sam Goy (14.7). 

Stewart and Goy pace the Leopards on the glass as well with 8.9 rpg and 6.3 rpg, respectively.  

WE MEET AGAIN
With 28-point performances each, Evan Cook and Keenan Robertson powered Suffolk men's basketball to an 80-73 Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Wentworth Saturday, Jan. 6 at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. In addition to the offensive outburst, Cook joined an elite group of Rams to record 1,000 career points in collegiate play.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is 12-9 all-time against Wentworth. 
  • Suffolk aims to couple back-to-back victories together over Wentworth for the first time since Nov. 19, 1994 (94-54)-Jan. 12, 1995 (92-65), which were the victories of the tail end of five-game win streak for Suffolk in the series.
