BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball is set for a Saturday, Jan. 4 meeting with Western New England. Tip-off between the Rams and Golden Bears is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Emmanuel's Andy Yosinoff Court.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's basketball began the New Year in the win column as the Rams buried 15 buckets from beyond-the-arc to defeat Mount Saint Mary, 84-60, Thursday afternoon at the Kaplan Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Thanks to its 84-60 triumph at Mount Saint Mary Thursday, Suffolk heads back to Boston 6-5 overall.  

Four different student-athletes provide double-digits in scoring to pace the Rams' 77.7 ppg offensive output. Nate Hale's 13.7 ppg leads the way with Thomas Duffy in a close second at an 11.6 ppg effort. William Rowe and Alex Jacovides round out the foursome with 10.1 ppg and 10.1 ppg, respectively.  

Brendan Mulson paces the pack on the glass with 6.5 rpg. Rowe adds 3.9 rpg to the teams' 33.8 rpg effort with Duffy adding 3.4 rpg. 

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Saturday's showdown serves as Western New Engalnd's New Year opener with the Bears going 6-5 in their first semester.  

Alex Sikorski is a force offensively and defensively for WNE with a powerful 20.6 ppg to spearhead the 85.0 ppg offense and 5.7 rpg to add to the 35.0 rpg defensive effort. Mike McGuire is on the cusp of averaging 20 points as well, coming in with 19.2 ppg. Tim Reilly chips in 11.2 ppg and Zachary Tavitian completes the foursome with double-digit scoring with 10.5 ppg, while Kenny Flynn's 6.1 rpg leads the way on the glass.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk, who renewed a rivalry with the Golden Bears a year ago, has strung back-to-back wins together over Western New England to sit 8-13 all-time in the series. 
  • In the last meeting, the Rams bested WNE, 91-77, in overtime. 
  • Suffolk has scored 90-plus points in the last two games against the Golden Bears. 
  • The blue-and-gold is 1-0 versus WNE in the Jeff Juron era.
