Mulson Brings Home Fourth GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – For the fourth time this season, Suffolk men's basketball's Brendan Mulson has been named the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week after producing 23.0 ppg and 9.3 rpg in a 3-0 week for the Rams, the league office announced Monday.

Mulson's 23.7 ppg and 9.3 rpg came from a 53.7 percent (22-41) connection rate from the floor, 9-for-19 effort  from three-point land and an 18-for-23 showing at the charity stripe. The rookie also took care of the play, playing 35.0minutes per game and having just three total turnovers.

To open the weekly action, the Albany, New York native, poured in a monster 29-point, nine-rebound performance in a 74-59 victory at Norwich. Two days later, he led Suffolk to a 59-45 victory at Emmanuel with his first collegiate double-double of 20 points and 10 boards. Mulson capped off the week with 22 points and nine caroms in a convincing 101-86 victory over Mount Ida Saturday.

Mulson has helped Suffolk to its most victories (11) since the 2005-06 campaign and an unbeaten 8-0 mark in front of its home crowd at Regan Gymnasium.

The Rams and Mulson are back in action Tuesday, Jan. 30 as they tip-off a three-game week at Anna Maria. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
