Mulson Picks Up Third GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week Honor

BOSTON – For the third time this season, Brendan Mulson of the Suffolk men's basketball team has been named GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week after a 15.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg performance in a 1-1 week for the Rams, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Mulson is the first Ram to be named the best rookie over a seven day stretch three times by the conference since Frantz Pinard picked up three rookie recognitions in the 2013-14 season.

Over the week, he shot 61.1 percent (11-18) from the field, 33.3 percent (2-6) from three-point range and did not miss at the foul line (7-7) to score 31 points over a pair of contests.

The Albany, New York native opened the week helping Suffolk to its fifth consecutive win a 93-66 victory over Framingham State with a double-double effort of 12 points and 10 boards. Mulson's first collegiate double aided in the Rams' longest win streak since 2003 and largest margin of defeat over the Framingham Rams in the series history.

As the Rams returned to GNAC play Saturday at Albertus Magnus, Mulson continued to excel with the small forward spear heading Suffolk's comeback attempt, that unfortunately fell short, 81-65. He finished the afternoon with a team-high 19 points, shooting 6-for-8 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the line to go along with seven rebounds.

Mulson and Suffolk is back in action Tuesday, Jan. 9 when they entertain Norwich at Regan Gymnasium at 5:30 p.m.
