BOSTON – The Suffolk men's basketball team is set for a Saturday showdown with Salem State as the Rams and Vikings will battle in the consolation game of the Williams Tip-Off Tournament. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's basketball team took the Ducks of Stevens into overtime in the semifinal matchup of the Williams Tip-Off Tournament, but the Rams came out on the losing side, falling 85-79, Friday night.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk took its season opener, downing Brandeis for the first time since 2001, but fell in overtime to Stevens to move to 1-1 on the season. 

Thomas Duffy has been a dominate offensive force for Suffolk this season as the sophomore has produced 20-plus points in both of the Rams games this season. Duffy is average 24.5 ppg, shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the three-point line. Michael Hagopian and Jim Djema also average double figures with 13.0 ppg and 10.0 ppg, respectively. 

Hagopian leads the way on the glass, pulling down 6.0 ppg with Brendan Mulson (5.5 rpg) and George Grillakis (5.0 rpg) adding to the effort.

VIKINGS VIEW
Similar to Suffolk, Salem State won its season opener, a 67-63 victory over UMass Dartmouth, but fell in the semifinal of the Williams Tip-Off Tournament, losing to tournament host Williams, 80-68, to sit at 1-1 on the season. 

Drew Healy averages a double-double effort with team-bests in points (17.0) and rebounds (10.0) per game. Alex Santos adds 15.0 ppg with Tyreik McCauley contributing 8.0 rpg.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk and Salem State first met in 1969. Since then, the Rams and Vikings have tangled 19 times with the blue-and-gold trailing the series, 9-10. Suffolk and Salem renew a rivalry with the last meeting coming in 1995. The Rams have fallen in six straight meetings to the Vikings with the last win over Salem coming by an 88-76 decision in 1982.
