BOSTON – The Suffolk men's basketball hits the road for the first time in 2017 when the Rams stop by Mt. Ida Saturday, Jan. 7 for a 1 p.m. GNAC showdown.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's basketball team put a complete game together to take down crosstown and GNAC rival Emmanuel, 80-69, inside Regan Gymnasium Thursday night.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk moved to .500 (2-2) against conference competition and 3-8 overall with its 80-69 win over Emmanuel Thursday. 

Suffolk's sophomore fueled offense is putting up 65.6 ppg on a 41.9 connection rate from the floor. The Rams capitalize on their trips to the free throw line, shooting 75.9 percent on freebies, and knock down 30.7 percent of their triples. Defensively, the Rams have trimmed their rebounding margin to just -3.2 per game, grabbing 32.5 boards off the glass per contest.   

The well-balanced machine continues to be led by the trio of sophomores in Steven DiPrizio (13.5 ppg, 7.6 rpg), Jim Djema (11.5 ppg, 2.0 apg) and Michael Hagopian (11.0 ppg, 2.0 apg). 

MUSTANGS MUST KNOWS
Mt. Ida carries a five-game win streak into Saturday, which features wins over league opponents Norwich (83-73) and Johnson & Wales (75-61), to sit at 7-4 on the season and 3-1 in conference competition. 

The Mustangs' 81.6 ppg offense is second in the conference thanks to Ethan Dujon's 17.9 ppg, which also sits second amongst the GNAC. Jayson Clark (12.9 ppg), Joey DeFillippi (12.8 ppg) and Errald Jordine (11.0 ppg) also average double digits for Mt. Ida. 

On the glass, Mt. Ida is being outrebounded by its opponents by a 3.0 margin, totaling 35.5 rpg. Dujon and Harry Alexander lead the way on the boards for the Mustangs with 5.1 rpg and 5.0 rpg, respectively. 

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Suffolk, Mt. Ida is fairly new with the Rams trailing the Mustangs by two games, 7-9. The blue-and-gold picked up the last outing, 81-75, Feb. 9, 2016.
