Duffy Named GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Thomas Duffy of the Suffolk men's basketball team was tabbed the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week on the heels of 5.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg in a 1-1 week the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

In the Rams first victory of the season at Wheelock the freshman forward put in six points on a 50 percent connection rate (2-4) from the floor and grabbed a career-high 10 boards, including seven on the defensive end. Duffy matched his career-best in handouts with two.

In the GNAC opener versus Saint Joseph's (Maine), Duffy contributed nine points, six rebounds, two steals and one handout. His two takeaways match a career-high for the Fairfield, Connecticut, local.

The honor is the first of Duffy's career and the first weekly accolade for Suffolk since Frantz Pinard took home the best rookie over a seven day stretch Jan. 20, 2014.

Duffy and the Rams are back in action Wednesday, Dec. 7 when they entertain Norwich at 5 p.m. inside Regan Gymnasium.
