BOSTON – After a two-game stint at home, the Suffolk men's basketball team will travel to New Haven, Connecticut to take on the Albertus Magnus Falcons in GNAC action Wednesday evening.

DOUBLE DIP
Wednesday's matchup will be the second time the Rams will tip off against the Falcons this season. In the teams' previous meeting, The Rams fell to Albertus 80-70 inside Regan Gymnasium on December 1 after overcoming double-digit deficits in each half. Matt Duquette led the way for Suffolk with 25 points off a 9-of-15 performance from the floor and went 7-of-9 from the line.

LAST TIME OUT
In another GNAC matchup, Suffolk dropped an 88-71 decision to Anna Maria inside Regan Gymnasium January 23.  

After a tight first-half, the Rams put up nine unanswered points to make it a one-point game, 52-51, early in the second stanza.

Soon after, Anna Maria went on a 16-5 stretch, taking an 83-66 lead, while Suffolk failed to come back, and the AMCATS walked away with the conference victory.

Matt Duquette led the Rams with a team-high 28 points, shooting 11-of-20 from the floor, and went a perfect 6-of-6 at the line.

RUN DOWN ON THE RAMS

  • Suffolk (4-13, 2-8 GNAC) is 0-5 in its last five games after starting conference play at 2-3.
  • Matt Duquette and Jake Meister lead the Rams' offense, averaging 15 and 14.9 points, respectively. Meister is also shooting 77 percent from the line while Duquette is averaging five rebounds per game. 
  • Suffolk puts in 63.6 points per game as a team on a 41.0 connection rate from the floor, 34.4 beyond the arc and 69.1 at the line. The Rams grab 32.1 boards per game led by Adam Chick's 5.9.

FACTS ON THE FALCONS

  • Albertus Magnus enters Wednesday's contest on a two-game winning streak, having most recently defeated Rivier, 80-64, on January 18. The Falcons are 11-3 on the season and 7-2 in GNAC play.
  • Shontaey Lovell leads Albertus in scoring at 19.4 ppg and enters Wednesday's game ranked fourth in the GNAC. Lovell also leads the conference in rebounds per game with 12.9, as well as in field goal percentage, shooting 67.8 percent from the floor.
  • As a team, the Falcons rank second in the conference in scoring (85.1). Albertus Magnus is shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from three and 60.9 percent at the line.

COMING UP
Wednesday's game at Albertus Magnus will be the first of three road games for the Rams as they travel to Emmanuel and Anna Maria in the coming week. Suffolk will tip off against the Saints of Emmanuel College Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m.
