BOSTON – After opening the New Year on the road, the Suffolk men's basketball team returns to Regan Gymnasium Tuesday, Jan. 5 for a GNAC contest against Lasell. The Rams and Lasers will tip-off at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
To open 2016, the Suffolk men's basketball team crossed the Boston Commons where it played in a hard fought battle with its city neighbor Emerson. Despite a strong effort from the Rams, the Lions were able to pull ahead going into halftime and never looked back, closing the game 74-54.

RUN DOWN ON THE RAMS

  • Sitting at 3-7 overall and 1-2 in GNAC play, Suffolk looks to return to the win column tonight after dropping back-to-back contests: vs. Wheelock (78-73) and at Emerson (73-54).
  • The duo of Matt Duquette and Jake Meister has been the Rams dominance offensively. Duquette leads the way with 16.7 ppg with Meister's 16.0 ppg closely behind in second.
  • As a team, Suffolk is grabbing 36.8 rebounds per game, paced by Adam Chick's 5.9 rpg.  

LOWDOWN ON THE LASERS

  • Lasell had its six-game win-streak snapped by then-No. 3 Amherst Dec. 12, 101-69. The Lasers carry a 6-4 overall ledger and undefeated 3-0 mark into their first contest of 2016.
  • Five different players are averaging double figures led by Armin Omanovic's 14.3 ppg. Richard O'Brien (12.5 ppg), Pat Marcharnd (11.9), Logan Liberty (11.6) and Scott Arsenault (10.9 ppg) round out the top five.
  • Defensively, Pat Marchand and Logan Liberty pace the pack with 8.4 rpg and 7.0 rpg, respectively.   

COMING UP
After the women's team hosts Pine Manor Thursday, Jan. 7 at 6 p.m., the men's team will entertain Mount Ida at 8 p.m.
