Brigham Brings in D3Baseball.com All-New England Honorable Mention

D3BASEBALL.COM ALL-REGION

BOSTON – Tim Brigham of the Suffolk baseball team collected all-region honors as the junior outfielder earned an All-New England honorable mention nod from D3Baseball.com, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

Over 800 student-athletes were nominated for the regional ballot, which is in its eighth season, and was distributed to Sports Information Directors, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as the organization's staff and contributors.

The 47 New England student-athletes recognized represented 28 different schools. Brigham is one of four GNAC competitions to find his name on the list with Johnson & Wales' seeing two representatives, Colby Greenhalgh (second-team) and Joe Maracic (honorable mention), while Saint Joseph's (Maine) saw Joey Murphy take home first-team status.

Since Suffolk earned its first D3Baseball.com all-region nod in 2013, the Rams have gone on to pick up 10 all-region distinctions (first first-team, two -second-team, two third-team and one honorable mention). Brigham garnered the all-region accolade for the first time in his collegiate career.

The Cape Elizabeth, Maine, native was the backbone to Suffolk's offensive unit with 60 hits, including 36 extra-base knocks highlighted by 23 doubles for 92 total bases. He connected at the plate at a .390 clip with an on-base percentage of .428 and a slugging percentage of .597.

Brigham helped Suffolk sit atop the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) standings for the second straight season with a 14-2 league ledger to capture the conference's regular-season crown in back-to-back campaigns for the first-time in program history.
