DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Brady Chant hit a go-ahead three RBI bomb to give Suffolk baseball the lead, but Nate Tellier's second dinger of the day made up the difference for UMass Dartmouth to snap the Rams' seven-game streak by a 4-3 decision Thursday afternoon at UMD Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Corsairs opened the scoring in the home half of the first with a scoring fielder's choice before Tellier went yard for the first time on the day in the bottom of the third.
Trailing by two with Shane Lake, who wore a pitch, on second and Rich Gilbride, who singled, on first Chant sent a shot to left center to clear the bases and turn the tides in Suffolk's favor, 3-2.
Suffolk maintained the distance until Tellier barreled his second homer of the day and brought in Josh O'Neil with him to regain a one-run edge, 4-3, for the hosts.
Looking to make a comeback, the Rams were retired in the eighth and the night to suffer the set.
PITCHERS PICTURE
- Suffolk starter Rich Giandrea went through 6.1 innings where the freshman allowed four runs on nine hits and one walk with four strikeouts.
- Parker Browne through 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, giving up just two hits and one walk with a pair of Ks.
- Zack Reid earned his first win of the season after tossing 4.0 scoreless, no-hit frames out of the pen with two punchouts.
- Ryan Britton opened the non-conference clash for the Corsairs on the hill. Over 5.0 innings, he let up three runs on four hits and three walks and sat down a trio of batters.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Chant's homer highlighted Suffolk's offensive performance with the senior recording three RBI and one run.
- Gilbride had one run and one hit to his credit with Trevor Lee and Seth Coiley each producing one hit for the blue-and-gold.
- Lake rounded out the Rams run scorers.
NOTEWORTHY
- Giandrea matched a career-high four strikeouts.
- Chant hit his fourth homer of the season, which matches his 2017 home run output.
