Baseball Emerges in NEIBA Coaches Poll

BOSTON – On the verge of its third consecutive and seventh overall NCAA Regional Appearance, the Suffolk baseball team made its way into the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) poll for the first time this season as the No. 8 team in New England, the organization announced Tuesday morning.

The Rams, who locked up their third straight GNAC crown, are tied with their conference counterpart St. Joseph's (Maine) for the final spot. Suffolk, who was receiving votes a week ago, received six points, while UMass Boston, who is the NCAA New England Regional's top seed, grabbed five first-place nods to capture the top spot with 40 points.

Suffolk is locked in for the NCAA New England Regionals as the sixth-seeded Rams are in store for a Thursday tilt versus the regional's third-seed, No. 18/22 St. John Fisher. First pitch at Whitehouse Field in Harwich, Massachusetts, is set for 4:30 p.m. and will be streamed live here. The winner advances into the winner's bracket and will play either Arcadia (32-11) or Worcester State (20-20) under the lights Friday night at 8 p.m., while the losers will meet in a do-or-die elimination contest at 1 p.m.
