Baseball Drops Two at Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Suffolk baseball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader at Endicott as the Gulls took down the Rams, 10-3, in the opener and 6-3 in the nightcap to sweep the non-conference series at North Field.

THE BASICS
GAME 1 SCORE: Suffolk 3, Endicott 10
GAME 2 SCORE: Suffolk 3, Endicott 6
RECORDS: Suffolk (21-13) | Endicott (22-15)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gulls put runs away early and often to take a 4-0 lead that blossomed to an 6-0 edge after three complete frames. From there, Suffolk's offense couldn't find its way on the board and Endicott ran four around the bags to stretch their lead even further in the fifth to 10-0.

Brady Chant's solo shot in the sixth put one up for Suffolk and the Rams ran a pair in the seventh thanks to RBI singles from Kevin Higgins and Sean Cameron. The blue-and-gold could not make up more ground from there, however, as the Gulls locked up game one.

In the nightcap, a similar situation ensued with Endicott grabbing a 5-0 lead after three thanks to four runs in the second and one tally in the third. The Rams trimmed the margin in the fifth. Kevin Belskie started things off with a triple down the right field line and came in on a BJ Neil 43 ground out.

Suffolk made up more ground in the sixth with a sac fly from Belskie that plated Seth Coiley, who started the inning with a walk. Endicott put things back to three runs in the sixth, but Chant blasted another ball over the fence to keep things interesting in the seventh. Cameron singled and Coiley wore a pitch to put two runners on, but Suffolk went down from there as Endicott locked up the win.
