BOSTON – The Suffolk baseball team splits its weekend action on the road and at home with the Rams visiting No. 19/24 St. Joseph's (Maine) Saturday, April 22, before entertaining Lasell Sunday, April 23 at East Boston Memorial Park. Saturday's showdown begins at 1 p.m., while Sunday's contest starts at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk baseball's comeback was punctuated with a walk-off single RBI from Sean Cameron that sent the Rams past Curry, 7-6, in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at East Boston Memorial Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has gone 13-2 in its last 15 outings to improve to 17-8 on the season and 8-0 versus GNAC rivals. 

The Rams offense has picked up the pace lately with Brady Chant producing squad-best numbers in hits (40), and runs scored (30), as the junior hits .354, slugs .637 and owns and on-base percentage of .414 with 23 RBI. His fellow upperclassmen in Seth Coiley (.403/.549/.597, 27 H, 19 RBI, 19 R) and Luke Ronchi (.366/.429.462, 34 H, 22 RBI, 25 R) are one-two on the team in average, while Kevin Belskie and Matt Brenner sit first and second on the squad in RBI with 26 and 24, respectively. Brenner is also second on the team in runs scored 27 with the senior hitting .341. 

Suffolk has core pitching trio in Mark Fusco, Chuck Gibson and Ryan Pordes. Fusco is the top arm, owning a 0.78 ERA in 23.0 innings with two starts and 14 Ks. Gibson's 1.99 ERA sits second with the senior working 31.2 frames and striking out 24, while Pordes rounds out the group with a 3.51 ERA through 41.0 innings and 27 strikeouts.  

MONKS MENTIONABLES
St. Joe's is virtually atop the GNAC in every category, both offensively and defensively, as the #19/24 Monks sit 23-5 on the season and unbeaten 6-0 in league action. They enter Saturday's showdown following a 14-1 setback to UMass Boston. 

The Monks bats have been powerful this season, swinging a .344 average with a .439 on-base percentage and .488 slugging percentage. Tyler Black is the overall leader with a slash line of .422/.505/.622 with a team-high 27 RBI on 38 hits with 28 runs scored. Max McComb is second on the squad in RBI (18), hits (28) and runs scored (26) thanks to an average of .459. 

On the hill, Travis Godbout's 3.06 ERA paces the plentiful pack with 17 arms shoving at least 1.0 inning this season for St. Joe's. The Monks rely heavily on their closer, Josh Partirdge, who owns a 1.16 ERA in 31.0 frames with 31 Ks.  

EYES ON THE GAME

LASERS LOOK
Lasell snapped a four-game win streak in non-conference action Thursday, falling at Dean to move to 10-12 overall. In GNAC games, the Lasers are on a six-game win streak to take a 6-2 league ledger. Lasell will play at Albertus Magnus Saturday before Sunday's tilt with the Rams. 

Andre Marchesseault and Skylar Beckerman are the Laser's leaders at bat. Each hit .347 with the former owning 25 hits, 13 RBI and 16 runs scored and the latter contributing 26 hits, 14 RBI and 15 runs scored. 

Daniel Petr's is Lasell's starting arm with the lowest ERA of 4.01 in 33.2 frames with 19 strikeouts. Casey Johnson has seen the most action on the hill, 35.2 innings and owns a 4.79 ERA with 15 Ks.

Brady Chant added more accolades to his growing resume as the junior won this week's national poll conducted by Herosports.com as the Offensive HERO of the Week in Division III baseball.

TRIPLE TRANSCRPIT
Brady Chant rewrote the Rams' record books on Patriots Day as the junior knocked his 10th triple of the season bringing his career total to 20 to sit atop Suffolk's single-season all-time triple marks.

Suffolk steps out of league play for back-to-back midweek games. First the Rams travel to Cambridge Wednesday, April 26 for a match up at MIT before welcome UMass Dartmouth to East Boston Memorial Park for a Thursday tilt. Both contest have 4 p.m. starts.
