Chant Snags Vote: Named HeroSports.com DIII Offensive HERO of the Week

BOSTON – Suffolk baseball's Brady Chant added more accolades to his growing resume as the junior won this week's national poll conducted by Herosports.com as the Offensive HERO of the Week in Division III baseball.

Chant was nominated for the honor Wednesday thanks to his three triple performance against Anna Maria April 15 and his second GNAC Corvias Player of the Week nod of the season. The centerfielder took down his competition, grabbing 44.9 percent of the votes, more than 68 than the second-place finisher with 266 of the 600 submitted.

The Warwick, Rhode Island product took home the award on the strength of his 3-for-6 day versus the AMCATS with all of his hits good for three bases. Chant registered five runs and on RBI in the 30-8 victory. The three triples marked the most by a Ram in a single game with two coming in the third frame, which is not only a program record, but ties the NCAA DIII record.

Chant and the Rams have a crucial GNAC weekend in store as they hit the road Saturday, April 22, heading to No. 19/24 St. Joseph's (Maine), before entertaining Lasell Sunday, April 23 at East Boston Memorial Park underneath the lights at 4 p.m.
