BOSTON – The Suffolk baseball team will use back-to-back MASCAC matchups to prep for GNAC action this weekend as the Rams head to Salem State and Bridgewater State for midweek contests. Suffolk visits the Vikings Wednesday, March 29 for a 3:30 p.m. start, before traveling to the Bears Thursday, March 30 for a 3 p.m. first pitch.

LAST TIME OUT
Trailing 5-3 heading into the top of the ninth, the Suffolk baseball team turned in four runs thanks to a double from Kevin Higgins and a two RBI triple off Brady Chant's bat to secure a comeback 7-5 win at Salem State Wednesday afternoon.

RAMS RUNDOWN
After a 4-5 trip to Florida, Suffolk fell at UMass Boston, 6-5, and righted the wrong with a 7-5 victory at Salem State to head into GNAC action at 5-6 on the young season. 

Seth Coiley is the lone Ram hitting over .400 with the junior outfielder connecting at a .407 percentage to go along with a .469 on-base percentage and a .556 slugging percentage. He owns 11 hits, four RBI and three runs. Brady Chant, who is hitting .327, leads the team in hits with 17 including seven for extra bases for a team-high nine RBI and six runs scored. Luke Ronchi matches Chant's team-high RBI with nine of his own with the senior producing 15 hits, batting .326, and leading the way in runs scored with 10. 

Senior starter Chuck Gibson has been the most consistent arm for Suffolk this season, owning a 2.04 ERA in 19.0 innings pitched with 10 runs allowed (five earned) on 16 hits and nine strikeouts. Ryan Pordes has also worked 19.0 innings, producing a 3.79 ERA with eight runs given up off 22 hits and nine Ks. Relief pitcher Mark Fusco brings in a team-low ERA of 2.00 into the weekend. The junior has seen 9.0 innings of action, let up four runs (two earned) on nine hits and sat down six batters.  

FALCONS FACTS
Albertus Magnus rides a five-game skid into conference play that put the Falcons at 3-11 on the season. In the last five games, Albertus Magnus has been outscored by a 56-9 margin. 

Two every day starters are hitting .300 or above in freshman catcher Brandon Clark (.400) and senior Andrew Scully (.306). Scully leads the squad in hits (15) and RBI (9) to go along with nine runs, while Clark is second on the team in hits (12) with seven runs scored and four RBI to his credit. Tyriq Harris, who hits .268, is the team leader in runs scored at 12. 

Nearly every pitcher on the Falcons staff has seen action this season. Amongst the starters, Dan Zarnick brings in the lowest ERA at 6.48. The senior has thrown 16.2 innings, allowing 14 runs (12 earned) on 23 hits, six walks and 11 strikeouts. Shawn McFeggan has seen the most time on the mound for Albertus Magnus in 23.0 innings. The hurler's 6.92 ERA is due to 21 runs let up (19 earned) on 36 hits with the freshman sitting down a team-best 18 hitters.
