Carter Picks Up GNAC Corvias Player of the Week

BOSTON – Suffolk baseball's Drew Carter picked up GNAC Corvias Player of the Week accolades, marking the sixth time a Ram has recognized by the conference in the last four weeks.

Carter had a strong week from the plate, hitting .625 with two runs and two RBIs in three games for Suffolk. He recorded a hit in each game and extended his hitting streak to eight games. Against a tough Western New England team, he rattled off a double and drew a walk. The third baseman followed that with a 1-for-1, two-walk, one-run effort in a 6-2 win at Bridgewater State. Carter's top performance of the week came at Curry with the senior putting together a 3-for-4 effort with two RBI and one run to lift the Rams to an 8-6 victory. The superior performance at the plate included a monster home run that cleared center field and brought in a go-ahead run in the eighth inning against the Colonels.

Carter and the Rams are back in action tomorrow afternoon at Endicott at 3:30 p.m.
